Terms of Service

EFFECTIVE 24 JULY 2026

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Daily Lion ("Daily Lion", "we", "us"), operated from Israel, governing your use of the Daily Lion mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Daily Lion delivers audio news episodes summarizing news about Israel, generated from a curated set of Israeli and international news sources. Key characteristics you acknowledge by using the Service:

  • Episodes are AI-generated. Scripts are written by artificial intelligence systems that summarize reporting from third-party news sources, and audio is produced by AI text-to-speech. Episodes are not written or narrated by human journalists.
  • Episodes are summaries, not original reporting. The Service aggregates and summarizes journalism published by third-party outlets. The underlying reporting belongs to those outlets.
  • Source leanings are editorial labels applied by us. Sources are grouped into "left", "center", and "right" buckets. These labels reflect our editorial judgment, are approximate, and may not match your view of any given outlet.
  • Episodes are shared, not personalized. Episodes are produced on a schedule and the same episode is delivered to every listener who receives it. They are not individually generated for you or tailored to your listening history. The number, length, timing, and format of episodes may change as the Service develops.

3. Accuracy disclaimer ALL USERS

AI-generated summaries can contain errors, omissions, mistranslations (some sources are in Hebrew), or statements that misrepresent the underlying reporting. The Service is provided for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for reading original reporting, and it is not professional, legal, financial, safety, or emergency advice. Do not rely on the Service as your sole source for decisions of consequence, including safety-related decisions. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any episode.

4. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where required by local law) to use the Service. See section 15.
  • You must register an account using email, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your login method secure.
  • You may delete your account at any time in the app's settings.

5. License grant and restrictions

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and stream episodes for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

  • copy, redistribute, publicly perform, rebroadcast, or resell episodes or transcripts;
  • scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract content from the Service;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent technical or subscription restrictions;
  • use the Service to build a competing dataset or train machine-learning models;
  • use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

6. Subscriptions and billing

  • Daily Lion offers both free access and one or more paid subscription options. The features included in each, and the price of each, are those described in the app at the time you subscribe. We may add, remove, rename, or change the composition and pricing of any plan.
  • Subscriptions are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchase and are governed by the respective store's billing terms. Payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us directly; manage or cancel your subscription in your store account settings. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
  • Prices may change; changes apply at your next renewal and you will be notified as required by the applicable store. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
  • Except where required by law or by store policy, payments are non-refundable.
  • If a paid feature is discontinued during a period you have paid for, we will offer a reasonable remedy, which may include a comparable feature or a pro-rata refund through the relevant store.

7. User conduct and prohibited uses

You agree not to: (a) interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; (b) attempt unauthorized access to any systems or other users' accounts; (c) misrepresent your identity to us; (d) use automated means to access the Service except as permitted by us in writing; (e) use the Service where prohibited by law.

8. Intellectual property

  • The app, brand, design, and the specific expression of episode scripts and audio are owned by us or our licensors.
  • Underlying news facts and third-party reporting belong to the respective news outlets. Episodes identify or draw on those sources; nothing in these Terms grants you rights in third-party content.
  • Feedback you send us may be used by us without obligation to you.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party platforms, including the app store you installed from, any identity provider you sign in with, and our hosting, infrastructure, and AI providers. The categories of these providers are described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their terms. Links or references to third-party news outlets are not endorsements.

10. Disclaimer of warranties ALL USERS

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY. EPISODES MAY OCCASIONALLY BE LATE, MISSING, OR UNAVAILABLE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE AND (B) US $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIABILITY LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED BY LAW.

12. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14) survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring claims in the courts of your own country of residence. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under mandatory local law.

15. Age restrictions

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where a higher minimum applies to data processing consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below these ages; if you believe a child is using the Service, contact us and we will delete the account.

16. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify the Service (including sources, features, episode format, and tier boundaries) at any time. We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

17. Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
